At €222 for a four week course, Kapitel Zwei are one of the cheapest language schools in Berlin. Usually this sort of price would mean large class sizes and overworked teachers but at Kapitel Zwei, class sizes are capped at 10 with an average of around 8 participants in each course. Teachers are engaging and dedicated and a big emphasis is placed on communication. That is not to say that you wont have to learn any grammar, but grammar exercises are usually tied to a real world exercise that you get to practice in small groups or pairs during class.
All course levels are available, from absolute beginners (A1) to advanced (C2). They also run a Test DaF preparation course which is the minimum language requirement for many German universities, as well as dedicated conversation or grammar courses to help brush up on particular areas that may need extra work.
Kapitel Zwei run 4 sessions per day, an added bonus if you happen to be working in Berlin and want to study in the evening. The intensive courses run Monday to Thursday from 9am -12pm, 12pm-3pm, 3pm to 6pm and 6pm-9pm. They also offer both grammar and conversation courses twice weekly: one session per week costs 82€ for 4 weeks, or book two sessions for only 122€ (save 42€).
Kapitel Zwei is a certified examination centre for the internationally recognised telc certificate. The B2 exam, testing general knowledge of German at an advanced level, covers reading, vocabulary and grammar as well as listening and writing and is held on the last Saturday of each month.
