Museum Blindenwerkstatt Otto Weidt - Berlin


Now considered a hero, Otto Weidt was determined to protect his blind and deaf workforce from persecution and deportation.

The permanent exhibition tells the story of how the workshop became the last refuge for his workers and their families, as the threat from the Third Reich grew ever greater. The museum houses original letters, poems, and photographs to help illustrate the remarkable story of courage and bravery.

The museum is open every day from 10am to 8pm, entry is free of charge. Guided tours are available in a range of languages, but for those that do not wish to have a tour, audio commentaries are also available.
