The Antique Mile - Berlin

Overview

Suarezstraße, which runs between Kantstrase and Kaiserrdamm/Bismarkestrasse, is known in Berlin as the 'antique street'. Travellers come from all over to browse the few hundred meters of furniture, jewellery, art, crockery and glassware, clothing and accessories, bits and bobs and general vintage goodies that the various shops have on offer. Each shop run on their own hours but most of them don't open to after 12 midday so make sure you visit in the afternoon.

This unique strip of everything old is not just for the hungry antique collector; those partial to a flea market will also find some gems here, as prices can be quite reasonable. Plus, since 2002 this Antique Mile run a small festival (or a 'classy' flea market) every year on the first Saturday in September where the stores spill out onto the streets, the old local fire station opens its doors, old tunes are played and people even dress in ye oldie fashions to sell their wares. It's a lot of fun, plus you may score a bargain.
